What Courses Can I Take Virtually?
ITTC is pleased to offer a range of virtual violence training courses that give your employees the tools needed to de-escalate and deal with aggression and violence in the workplace. These courses include the following:
How does each course contribute to maintaining a safe and productive workspace?
De-escalate to Safe State
When a person acts aggressively, creating conflict and potential violence, several targeted behaviors could serve to de-escalate the situation, from speaking thoughtfully and acting with patience to practicing empathy and active listening.
With the right tools, employees can approach conflicts and crises calmly and effectively. Our virtual violence training program teaches 12 points of de-escalation, including verbal and non-verbal techniques, to reduce stress, redirect, and return to a peaceful state, avoiding violent incidents.
Clinical Staff Response Training
Clinical Staff Response Training (CSRT) provides the knowledge and skills employees need to recognize escalating conflict, intervene, and reduce risks of violence and harm. First, individuals must be aware of people, the environment, and the situation so they can identify potential conflicts and escalating aggression.
From there, they can follow steps to de-escalate the situation, including verbal intervention and engagement techniques. Finally, employees will learn release and escape techniques to protect themselves from harm if the situation continues to escalate. Preserving a safe state in the workplace starts with preparedness.
Response Control Techniques
Many businesses rely on security officers to assist with difficult conflict situations. Ensuring that this portion of your staff is properly trained to manage conflict and crises can help to reduce liability and create a safe space for everyone.
Virtual violence training in Response Control Techniques (RCT) provides security staff with the knowledge and skills required to effectively redirect aggression or violence back to a safe state, especially in coordination with clinical or other staff. With training in awareness, verbal de-escalation, redirection techniques, and more, security officers have the tools they need to prevent violence and reduce the risk of harm.
Active Assailant Response Training
People who are unprepared for active assailant situations may respond by panicking, freezing, or acting in ways that escalate the situation and increase the risk of harm. Active Assailant Response Training (AART) offers a measure of preparedness that can help to save lives during attacks with weapons like firearms, blades, or blunt objects.
Participants will learn techniques for:
-
Escaping and evading
-
Hiding and barricading
-
Self-defense
They will also learn how to effectively communicate and coordinate with law enforcement during such incidents. This training aims to increase the potential for positive outcomes when a conflict becomes a crisis.

Interactive Learning
Knowledge and awareness are critical aspects of preparedness, but they’re more useful when paired with experience. This is why our programs include scenario-based training that emulates real-world scenarios, allowing participants to put their training to the test.
Why Choose Our Training for Your Employees?
Focus on De-escalation and Non-escalation Strategies
Unlike some other training organizations, ITTC prioritizes prevention through virtual violence training. Our focus on de-escalation techniques doesn’t ignore the need for hands-on intervention; it seeks to restore a safe state before more aggressive techniques are required.
Up-to-Date Content
Adaptability is baked into our approach to violence training. Our training programs are always evolving to incorporate new information and techniques so we can meet the changing needs of healthcare facilities, educational institutions, corporate offices, and other clients.
Practical Tools for Real Situations
Knowing what to do in a conflict situation is important, but as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. Scenario-based training helps participants learn through experience, testing their knowledge and skills in the process. Integration between security and facility staff enhances communication and collaboration when dangerous situations arise.
