Ensure a Safe and Secure Workplace for All — Healthcare, Hospital, Office & More

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality states that healthcare workers are five times more likely to suffer a workplace violence injury than those in other professions. Considering that they’re focused on helping others manage injuries and illnesses, it’s frustrating to think of carers themselves sustaining wounds in the line of duty.

The reality, however, is that people in extreme situations, like those in significant pain, can react unpredictably. This is compounded by the healthcare workers themselves, who tend to be under stress and overworked. When you consider the combination of these factors, violence in healthcare settings begins to make more sense.

Healthcare workplace violence prevention strategies can make a difference, though. They give you more control over volatile situations and can prevent serious consequences. In many instances, they can even save lives.

Key Features and Benefits

Our training for preventing workplace violence in healthcare can help you and your team prepare for any situation.

Compliance With Healthcare Training Regulations

Throughout the country, individual states have guidelines in place for healthcare workplace violence prevention training. Some states require the training to cover a certain number of violence types, for example. Others mandate that programs match the workplace violence prevention plans already in place.

We offer training compliant with training regulations across the country, allowing participants to receive certification no matter where they live. We’re even compliant with the new laws in place in Texas and California.

Comprehensive Training Modules

Training begins with verbal de-escalation techniques in our De-escalate to Safe State course and then continues to Clinical Staff Response Training. Our Clinical Staff Response Training course teaches healthcare staff how to identify dangerous situations and trains them to respond quickly to threats.

These courses will give you steps to follow when encountering a workplace threat so that there’s no guesswork on your part. Knowing what to do can help prevent further escalations.

Expert-Led Instruction

The instructors who teach healthcare workplace violence prevention at Iron Temple Training Center have decades of combined experience in the field. Our team is led by Dave Fritsch, an expert in martial arts and someone who worked in law enforcement for 22 years. Other team members include crisis counselors, psychologists, and nurses.

Course Details

We offer two main courses for healthcare workplace violence prevention: De-escalate to Safe State and Clinical Staff Response Training. Each one provides crucial information pertinent to the healthcare field.

De-escalate to Safe State focuses on teaching empathy, active listening, and mindfulness. It promotes using a hands-free approach to dealing with people who are agitated by relying on verbal and non-verbal cues. You will learn verbal de-escalation techniques and how to communicate more effectively throughout the workplace.

The de-escalation program also teaches you how to spot warning signs so that you can catch aggression at its earliest stages. You can then learn how to react appropriately to workplace conflict.

When you participate in the Clinical Staff Response Training course, you can receive a mini de-escalation module and learn all about the “3 Areas of Awareness,” which are personal, environmental, and situational. That’s one of the main techniques for noticing potential threats in any environment.

Our Clinical Staff Response Training course also helps you learn release and escape techniques and how to identify non-verbal and verbal aggressiveness.

Why Choose Our Training for Your Healthcare Employees?

Numerous companies promise results for preventing workplace violence in healthcare settings. Why, then, should you choose us above the others? Here are just a few reasons why Iron Temple Training Center stands out from the crowd.

For Healthcare-Specific Clients

General training is not nearly as effective in healthcare settings as training that keeps in mind the unique challenges that healthcare providers face. High-stress situations, angry patients and families, dangerous equipment, and many other factors can heighten danger and raise the stakes.

Our team is made up of healthcare providers who offer their knowledgeable insight. They help to ensure that we’ve addressed all types of violent situations.

Up-to-Date Content

We are rigorous about making certain that all the information we offer is up-to-date so that you receive cutting-edge guidance. Behavioral techniques can be perfected, and we don’t hesitate to make changes to our modules to help keep you safe

Practical Tools for Real Situations

One of the factors that makes us stand out when it comes to violence prevention courses is that we use scenario-based training. This strategy relies on real-world situations that teach you quick thinking and teamwork. You can learn how to react to people who are intoxicated, frustrated, or in the middle of a mental health crisis.

Iron Temple Training Center is proud to offer services that can keep healthcare workers safer as they provide care. We offer expert instruction and a wide variety of courses. These elements ensure that you can walk away from our sessions knowing how to de-escalate situations when it’s possible and how to react when it’s not.

Investing in healthcare workplace violence prevention can make a difference in how entire teams see their work environment.
